  April 2006  
  Prof. Dr. Thomas Jocher, planner of SYNIA, gave a lecture on the SYNIA project in the Congress Center Gasteig in Munich, Germany.  
     
  December 2005  
  The Hangzhou Sea-Crossing Bridge with a total investment of € 1.16 billion and a length of 12 km has been approved by the NDRC, the National Development & Reform Committee in Beijing on Nov. 16th. In the beginning of 2006, the construction of the bridge will start and reduce the distance between SYNIA and Shanghai to 140 km.  
     
  November 2005  
  In cooperation with the Bavarian Business Association and the German Chemical Industry Association, a SYNIA Promotion Event took place on December 1st in Munich. Mr. Rainer Ptok (Bavarian Business Association), Dr. Josef Geller (Director of the Chemical Industry Association), Li Zemin (Consul General for Economy and Trade) and Dr. Yu Dahai (Vice-President and General Manager Agro Chemicals and Intermediate, Degussa AG) each delivered a speech on chances and risks for European chemical companies in China. Dr. Roland Winkler (SYNIA Representative Office), Ina Schmidbauer (Architect) and Irene Burkhardt (Landscape Architect) presented SYNIA to the audience  
     
  August 2005  
  The 35 kW and 110 kV transformation stations as well as the road and water supply systems in SYNIA Textile are established. SYNIA Textile is now ready for occupancy.  
     
  June 2005  
  SYNIA Fine Chemical presents itself at the Chemspec in Düsseldorf (22nd to 23nd)  
     
  May 2005  
  Vice Mayor Lü and representatives of the marketing departement visit Singapur to conduct talks on several investment projects in SYNIA.  
     
  February 2005  
  Visit of a high ranking delegation of Shangyu officials to the USA, establishment of political ties, inauguration of the new representative office (Los Angeles, California)  
     
  January 2005  
  The newly finished steam power plant in Fine Chemical Area (31MW, 390t/h steam) starts trial operation.  
     
  December 2004  
  Century Road, 1st construction phase is completed.  
     
  November 2004  
  An Italian-Chinese Joint Venture, producing high quality textiles for Italian fashion labels is the first investor in SYNIA Textile Area.  
     
  September 2004:  
  A German delegation including Bernd Saxe, mayor of Lübeck and Michael Rocca, state secretary for economy of the province Schleswig-Holstein visited SYNIA between the 25th and 28th of September to negotiate on further cooperation and concrete investment projects.
The delegation will also take part in the foundation stone celebration for the German enterprise MCP-HEK’s new chemical plant in SYNIA.
A letter of intent (LOI) was already signed in March 2004.
