SYNIA’s infrastructure system has a high capacity
right from the start, ensuring sufficient energy and water
supply. And it can always be expanded to cope with increasing
demands. |

Steam and electrical power supply
A 390t/h thermal power plant with an electrical output
of 31 MW will be put into operation at the end of year
2004 to cover the demand for peak hours and steam supply
for textile and chemical industries. Another electrical
power plant (1,3 GW) will be built next to SYNIA Harbour.

Water supply
With the economic boom in the Yangzi River Delta, the
situation of fresh water shortage in some cities in this
region is becoming tougher. Not so in SYNIA. There are
rich resources of fresh water in Shangyu. The drinking
water for SYNIA - complying with the European Union drinking
water guideline - comes from Xiaoshunjiang Reservoir with
a daily maximum of 160 000 tons ensuring sufficient supply.
Process water for the industry will be gained by water
extraction plants.

Supply networks
Both the 60 000 t/d water supply and the 110 kV power
supply in SYNIA are based on reliable networks of double
circuits.
SYNIA’s main goal is to safeguard a long-term, reliable
energy supply. This includes effective electricity supply
grids, energy and product pipeline networks, a comprehensive
energy management and energy cost controlling.

Sewage and waste treatment
A 100 000 t/d sewage treatment plant is operating. The
upgrading of the sewage treatment plant has already been
started and will be gradually continued to the final stage.
To minimise costs and increase safety standards the sewage
from all enterprises is collected and centrally treated
to reach the standard before discharge. A chemical waste
treatment plant will start operating at the end of year
2004.

broadband options for high-speed internet, video conference
and any kind of mobile services.
