The Chinese initiators of SYNIA (Shang Yu New Industrial
Area) had a vision when launching the project: to create
a modern industrial zone with an entrepreneurial personal
spirit in a vital and sustainable environment, to establish
a base for advanced industries, a platform for high-tech
development and to build a new city for managers, employees,
workers and their families. To realise their vision they
engaged a Sino-German team of first class urban planners. |

The planners designed a perfectly balanced system of
industrial, residential and recreational areas based on
the principles of sustainability. After one year of hard
work the master plan of SYNIA, one of the biggest urban
and industrial projects in China, was approved by the
local authorities. |
